have you ever heard of the saying, "where there's a will, there's a way."
we often say we don't have time to do certain things and maybe that's true, but "where there's a will, there's a way." - it's a matter of making it happen. right now, my family is my priority. it's not always easy raising up a family and i'm busier than ever before. my family is my happiness. i get tired. i put a lot on myself because i choose to. i always say this, but i brought my boys into this world. i need to try. it wouldn't be fair to them if i didn't give it my all.
i love hanging out with evan in the morning. i nap every single day with my mini-me since we're home together because i need to in order to recharge my energy. we have a set schedule and routine that goes on. we'll pick up aiden and dylan from school most days. i feel like they've worked so hard all day from 8:00 to 3:00 p.m. at school that they deserve a break. a break to just be a kid. although, aiden missed his school nap today because it's "atrium" day, which meant he did a lot of reading. i always know when he didn't take a nap. he acts crazy and gets himself into trouble because he's so exhausted. that's when i know, he needs his nap and that's exactly what he got.
i asked them what they wanted to do today and they said park. again, a promise is a promise and we headed to "our" park for 1.5 hours together. it brings me inner peace when it's just us because sometimes you need it to just be you and your family. papa works all day and this is our chance to connect and to show our commitment as parents to our boys. they are our sunshines.
here's a small piece of our day. i'm loving the flip more each day. it's just a contemplation of clips (mostly several seconds long) that i take. i don't record the entire time because that's just crazy. i just have it wrapped around my wrist just in case i need to record a picture perfect "moment". i've used it frequently before but never to create movie that it does. and, it makes me content when i watch it. it's the smile i see in my boys in the video. it's contagious. it makes me happy. yes, happy to be their mama. i love them to death.
also, i must add that papa made a surprise visit for 10 mins at evan's class today. i didn't even notice him because i'm always so focus on evan. he just happened to be in the area at the same time his class was going on and stopped by just to be with us. i didn't care that it was 10 minutes. he loves us - that's all that matters to me.
love my boys. xoxo.
I love your "promise is a promise" mentality! When I was a kid my mom always made promises to get her through the moment and would almost never follow through. I've made sure I'm the exact opposite with my kids <3!
