The Deluxe Wash By Yours Truly

the month of august has been extremely hot in southern california. it was one of those days where i decided we should stay home in our igloo (AC is always on full blast). my boys love being entertained and since the carwash guy was supposed to come and never showed up, i solved the problem, by entertaining the idea of allowing my boys to wash my car! when i asked them if they wanted to go outside to help mama wash the car, they were beyond delighted.  you can hear "me! me! me! yay!" well, they love being outside. sure, they gave my car a deluxe wash (yeah right). besides the fact that aiden got dilly completely wet (making dilly extremely irritated), it was definitely a fun activity.

La Jolla Shores

we took our boys down to la jolla shores to celebrate their uncle's (my bro-in-law's) 34th birthday. we didn't stay for the nightlife obviously with three boys, but we did enjoy our time at the beach. it was my second time in la jolla. my first time here was back in college when i went to listen to a final fantasy concert (concert tour featuring music from the video game) in san diego and my friend and i stopped in la jolla for dinner.  this beach is very family-oriented and calm, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite, although it had such a beautiful view just like many others. there were tons of seaweeds and kelps in the water unlike huntington beach where our family normally goes to. dilly did not like the seaweed at all.  after all, we had an extremely awesome time. in general, our family loves everything about a day at the beach. we would never say "no" .....

we headed back home after we dine at the overhyped "phil's bbq" ....

overall, it was a nice day spent with my boys.

California Adventure | Cars Land

Disney California Adventure had it's grand opening of Cars Land about a month ago. We wanted to avoid the craziness of the theme park during this time, but this week, we decided to give it a shot, in hopes, that the lines would be shorter. Keep in mind, we're basically here every Friday (just about). So, we got here early to catch the Aladdin show and waited patiently for the show to start until they announced that it was cancelled due to technical difficulty. You can already guess, the crowd had unstoppable booing .... and we left with a little giggle and disappointment.


We headed towards Cars Land. I was amazed. I loved everything about it. I love how Radiator Springs was re-created. Of course, DIsney never fails to disappoint! It was pure fantasy! As much as I love detail, this place was full of details from the movie. The restaurants and gifts shops were beautifully done. I can't ever get over how Disney immerses you with a good mood feeling ALL the time. They're so good at it and they've definitely did it again as I walked through Cars Land with my family.


We spent about 4 hours at the theme park .....


It's something our kids look forward to every Friday and surprisingly I do too!

I'm Back.

that's it! i've said it before, but i'm ready to start releasing my blog. it started tonight. i went through my camera and realized i have about three memory cards filled with pictures that needs to be uploaded. i realized that i haven't blogged in the past four months! but, rest assure, i have hidden blogs that i haven't released. i've been juggling my time being a mother, wife, sister, and friend. it's hard at times and i realized patience is the key. i've been working hard to get my pre-pregnancy body back as well. i try to dedicate an hour, 3 to 4 times a week to myself by participating in yoga. it's pretty awesome. if i can't take care of myself, there's no way i could take care of my kids. i need the energy and strength. i hope you're doing the same, too, whether you have kids or not. please don't give up one yourself. you just have to believe and make time even though it may seem nearly impossible.


besides, i always find creativity and beauty that happens in between motherhood and my crazy life. a mother is who i am and what i am most proud of. i can't even recall how life was like without my kids. everything i used to do (before i had kids) was pushed to the back burner from piano, dance class, photography (besides taking pictures of my babies), etc. these little people you see above are my top priority along with my husband.  when i look at batman (aiden), robin (dilly), and baby batman (evan), it feels like time sped up a little quicker than the day before. one day, i know there will be more time for me, but for now, i want it to be about my little men. you read it right. it's ALL about my men!

Cinderella Carriage | Seaport Village

We were on our way home from lunch. It was one of those weekends where we didn't have anything planned for the evening. Our weekends are normally jammed pack with events to attend but for the first time in awhile, we had it free and couldn't figure out what to do. We're a family where we like to do things on the weekends rather than to stay home since we're home for the most part Monday through Thursday. We like to try to do things with our boys and it could be from simple to spontaneous. 

Today, we decided to head down to San Diego for the evening. We wanted to visit Balboa Park, but instead decided to go on the Cinderella Carriage ride around San Diego. It benefited our boys. They love that they we were being strolled around by a horse. I told them it's like the movie Cinderella and they're my little prince. Our driver (aka our tour guide) was pleasant and gave us a good amount of history about San Diego. I love listening and learning about history, but never found it as exciting in school. It's more enjoyable when it's being told like a story. 

Our little boys were in so much awe. 

I couldn't tell you how much I love my life and what it means to do things with my family. I want to set the foundation with Papa Dang to build our family. It takes a lot of work just like anything else. But, I figured I'll be doing it right from the beginning. You have to start them young as in young I mean, when they take their first breath of air. Knowingly knowing that one day, our boys will make their own choices in life and if they know right from wrong, hopefully, they would make the right choices without suffering from the consequences. By spending time together whether it be at home or not, it's the only way I can teach them the core. In our household, I make it a key to minimize conflicts and to maximize learning. 

Again, it was definitely a nice little getaway for the evening with our boys. We did stroll around Seaport Village after our ride. They have a nice little band that plays in the area. It was soothing to hear. Papa Dang and I are starting to love the life in downtown areas.

Griffith Observatory | Los Angeles, CA

We were supposed to take off to Santa Barbara and San Francisco for 4th of July weekend, but postponed it. Earlier today, I took my three boys with me to my office in El Segundo. Dilly had cracked my work laptop screen by accident the day before and I had to get something done. He does everything for me, which is very thoughtful. So, it was understandable. After I took care of some business, I headed home to pick up my husband, cousin, and sister in OC to head out to Hollywood. We started off at Hollywood / Highland and ended up at the Griffith Observatory! We haven't been here in ages and this was our kids first time!


I told them they were here to see the stars high in the sky. They were flabbergasted. I love how easily entertained they can be, but the best part was helping them learn. I love turning a play adventure into an educational one!


The best thing about visiting the Griffith Observatory is that it's free. You can see the hollywood sign and a spectacular / expansive view of Los Angeles. I love the experience and the exhibits are very interactive. I swear, I could spend an entire day here learning about astronomy. We didn't catch the planetarium show, which is just about all you pay for here. We waited in line outside on the rooftop where they house an enormous telescope. The line was a bit long, but worth the wait. Too bad Papa Dang saw nothing in the telescope. The employees appear to be extremely passionate and kept their explanation simple to understand. It was very informative.


One of my favorite display were the chunks of meteorites that have fallen to earth, which caused some catastrophic events! I always love to learn and gaining knowledge is powerful. Papa Dang had to listen to me rave and exclaim the awesomeness of this place. 


I love my family and every chance I get I love spending it with them. As long as you make the most of it, you're living in the moment.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

It was such an awesome experience and our kids first time at Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

They were amazed to meet some of the characters (batman, superman, buzz, bubble-bee from transformer, etc), which of course they believed were real. These impersonators basically crowded the sidewalk and would let you take pictures for a tip.... more to come tomorrow.
